Lt(n). Daniel DesRoches

Commanding Officer

Lt(n). DesRoches joined RCSCC Kent in 2019 as the Training Officer. Previously DesRoches was the Training Officer at RCSCC Blue Heron. DesRoches was appointed the Commanding Officer of RCSCC Kent in 2023. He also serves as the Commanding Officer at the Red Rock Sail Center & Nautical Site, located adjacent to HMCS Queen Charlotte.

Lt(n). DesRoches is happily married to his wife Jennifer and has two kids together, Callen and Kenzie.   DesRoches works as a Red Seal Mechanic at OK Tire, in Charlottetown.

Lt(n). Terry Scott

Supply Officer

Lt(n). Scott has been a member of RCSCC Kent since his teenage years. Over this time, he has developed a huge passion for the water and  owns his own sailboat. As a member of the Cadet Instructors Cadre, Scott has held many positions including Training Officer, Commanding Officer, and currently Supply Officer. 
​
During his time as a cadet he met his now wife Molly. The two have three adult sons: Liam, Lincoln, and Luke; all three have gone through the cadet program themselves.   Lt(n). Scott is a Business Analyst for the Provincial Government, as well as a board member for the Charlottetown Yacht Club.

Lt (n). Cory Arsenault

Standards Officer
Lt(n). Arsenault joined the RCSCC 23 Kent team in 2023, after many years working at RCSCC 85 Summerside. Arsenault has worked in many roles during his time as a CIC Officer, including the role of Commanding Officer. Currently, he is the Standards Officer for RCSCC Kent. His role entails working closely with all members including cadets and other staff to ensure that the standards of the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet program are being upheld.  

In his civilian life, Lt (n). Arsenault  works for Standard Aero. Arsenault is married to his wife Robyn and they have  two kids together.

Slt. Krystle O'Grady

Administration Officer

Slt. O'Grady is the Administration Officer at RCSCC Kent. She joined the corps in 2019, after serving as the Administration Officer at RCSCC Blue Herron. O'Grady has a passion for music and has spent alot of her time as a CIC officer working with the corps band, both at RCSCC Kent and Blue Herron.

Slt. O'Grady  works for Canada Post as a Postmaster. She is married to husband Shawn and has  one daughter, Jazlyn, and one son, MacKenzie. During the winter, O'Grady can often be seen at one of the many rinks around PEI supporting Jazlyn and her ringette team.

Slt. Kate Kelly

Training Officer

Slt. Kelly joined RCSCC Kent in 2016 as the Band Officer and Assistant Training Officer. In 2023, she became the Training Officer at the corps.  Before joining the corps staff, Kelly was a cadet at RCSCC Kent and was a member of the band.

Slt. Kelly has been married to her husband Branden since 2018.  They have two amazing  kids, Emma and Tommy. Kelly works at the University of Prince Edward Island as a Research Scientist, devoting much of her time towards health research.

CI Patrick O'Hanley

Ast. Administration Officer​

CI O'Hanley   joined the staff at RCSCC Kent, in 2022, and primarily assisted in training. In 2023, he transitioned    into  the role of Assistant  Administration Officer. O'Hanley was a cadet  at RCSCC Kent from 2015-2022 and served as Coxswain for his last three years as a cadet. On top of other duties, O'Hanley has managed the social media accounts for RCSCC Kent since 2019. He also manages the corps website and newsletter.

CI O'Hanley  graduated from the Business Administration program at Holland College, in 2023. O'Hanley is   employed full-time  by the Maritime Fun Group where he works various roles in management, human resources, and maintenance. In the summer months, his primary role is  the Assistant General Manager at the Sandspit Amusement Park.

Current Staff Positions and Responsibilities
(Some duties are specific to this cadet unit and are not identical to other units)
​

Commander
Commanding Officer (Lt(n). DesRoches:  In charge of the corps overall, liaises between the corps parents committee and corps staff, and oversees all personnel in the squadron.   He is also the Commanding Officer of the Red Rock Nautical Site.


Training
Training Officer:  (Slt. Kelly): Responsible for all training and operations of the cadet unit. Plans nightly training and makes the master schedule for the training year.

Standards Officer (Lt(n).  Arsenault):   Responsible for    ensuring all cadets and instructors are meeting instructional and evaluation standards, and routinely performing audits.   He works with the training officer to ensure that all training is executed and keeps things running on schedule.


Administration
Administration Officer (Slt. O'Grady):  Responsible for collecting and validating all personal information, including contact and medical info, as well as ensuring the transfer process of cadets between corps is complete. This officer is also responsible for submitting pay sheets for all staff and submitting weekly attendance.

Assistant Administration Officer (CI O'Hanley):  Responsible for all marketing and recruitment efforts for the cadet unit including the management of all social media pages as well as the website. Also responsible for all internal communications via Microsoft Teams, completing the ship's log, reviewing attendance, and administering paperwork to cadets.

Supply
Supply Officer (Lt(n).  Scott):   Responsible for    ordering and exchanging uniform parts, taking measurements for uniform parts, and fitting out all cadets in uniforms. He is also responsible for taking a periodic inventory of corps assets including all training supplies.
